Punjab public service commission is a joint public commission constituted in India.

Forerunner of the precursor of the Punjab public service commission born at Lahore on May 1, 1937 from the Khyber Pass to the Yamuna near Delhi. The Punjab public commission reorganized in February, 1948 at shimla after the partition of India. It shifted to the Patiala on 1st November, 1956 after merger of the state Punjab and Pepsu. Punjab public service commission conducts examinations for appointment to the service commission of Punjab. The commission matters to the methods of recruitment to various civil services o the state. It makes appointment to the various branches of department, grant promotions, transfer from one service to another, and transfer from one state to another and arrange the suitable way for it.

It handles all disciplinary matters affecting to government servants. Moreover, it handles all legal proceeding initiated against the department. The commission also sets the claims for granting injuries or pensions of the government servants.
