Punjab University Invites Applications From for Non Teaching Posts

Punjab University was established in 1882, it is an oldest university of India.  PU is affiliated to UGC and it performs research programmes in science, humanities, technology, sports and arts. It is located at Chandigarh. The University invites applications from Indian nationals for various non teaching posts.


The details of vacant post are given below; all the posts are under different pay scale.

Under the pay scale of Rs.15600-39100/-,

• 1 post is for Assistant Professor in Punjabi for School of Punjabi Studies,
• 1 post is for Senior Technical Officer in Department of physics,
• 1 is for Director Public Relations in P.U. News.

Under the pay scale of Rs.10300-34800/- with relevant grade pay,

• 1 vacancy is for Assistant Registrar,
• 1 is for Senior Scientific Assistant/ Scientific Officer in G-1,
• 1 is for Security Officer,
• 4 posts are for Junior Engineer in the construction office of Panjab University,
• 1 is for Draftsman in Architect Office,
• 1 is for Radiographer/ X-Ray technician in Dr. Harvansh Singh Judge Institute of Dental Sciences & Hospital.

Under the pay scale of Rs.5910-20200/-,

• 3 posts are available for Store Keeper,
• 130 vacancies are for the post of Clerk and Data Entry Operator,
• 5 posts are for Gunmen.

Under the pay scale of Rs.4900-10680/-with GP Rs.1300/-,

• 75 posts are for Peon,
• 60 are for Cleaner,
• 5 are for Mali,
• 16 posts are for Common Room Attendant/ Gate Attendant/ Attendant,
• 12 are for Beldar in Construction Office,
• 6 are for Helper,
• 5 are for Grounds men in Directorate of Sports,
• 2 are for Ball Boy,
• 1 is for Lineman,
• 1 is for Sewer man,
• 1 is for Remdex file Lifter,
• 115 are for Security Guard.

With fixed salary of Rs.5800/- per month and Rs6800/- per month,

• 81 posts are for Security Guard for a contract period of 11 months.

The last date for applying and receipt of filled in form along with applicable fees by DD is 15th May 2012.
